IRCVAC

01.

The International Road Crash Victims Africa Conference (IRCVAC) is a victims-centred initiative.

It is a landmark gathering which aims at bringing together victims and stakeholders from across Africa and the world to address the urgent and growing crisis of road traffic crashes and their devastating impact on victims, families, friends and societies.

With the theme “Gathering African and the world for road crash victims,” the Conference will serve as a platform for collaboration among governments, international organisations, road safety agencies, civil society groups, victim support advocates, law enforcement, and the private sector.

IRCVAC will provide an open and transparent platform to share experiences, policies, data, innovations, and strategies that prioritise victim recognition, rights, justice, rehabilitation, prevention, and post-crash care.

IRCVAC is more than a conference; it is a movement to remember, an invitation for responsibility, and a call to action for safer roads and compassion in Africa and the world.

Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria, in the middle of the country. The skyline of the city, which was built largely in the 1980s, is dominated by Aso Rock, an enormous monolith.
The climate in Abuja can best be described as tropical. The weather is mostly warm with bright sunny days being normal.
Summer is known as “rainy season” as there is significant rainfall while winter is known as “dry season” as there is a shortage of rain. In winter it is common to go for weeks without as much as a drizzle.

The city is served by the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, which has direct flights to numerous national and international destinations. Both Uber and Taxify are in operation around the city. This has made it notably easier to get around the metropolis.
